A booth that looks finished is not always a booth that interpreters can work in for six hours.
Organizers often write “booth provided” and stop there. For simultaneous interpretation, the difference between a decorative box and a working booth is sightline, air, sound isolation, and a second chair.
We place booths so interpreters can see the chair, the screen and the floor microphones without turning away from the console. If the booth faces a curtain, we move it — even when the room diagram looked tidy.
Cable paths stay off delegate aisles. Receivers are tested on every channel, not only channel 1. Water, paper and a spare headset live inside the booth before registration opens.
Two interpreters per active language pair is not luxury; it is how accuracy holds after the coffee break. If the budget only allows one linguist, we say so in the quote and recommend consecutive instead of a failing simultaneous channel.
